Finish Your Home Theater
Now Playing: Fabric
Topic: Finish Options

Home theaters certainly can be captivating.  But the whole theater experience is really felt when the walls or even ceiling sections are treated elegantly and beautifully.  Paint just doesn't do it, wallpaper is out of date, so what does that leave?

Well, no home theater is really complete without some acoustic treatment and that doesn't have to be expensive.  Any soft, open fibrous material will do a fair job.  More acceptable materials are availble for short money.  But how do you cover them?

Fabric is the answer to both of the above.  And don't glue it, stretch it.  Simple wood strips around the perimeter will give you a fastening framework.  Staple as you pull and you'll have a beautiful stretch-fabric, acoustical environment that will get more attention than most movies.

With all the money spent on electronics, give it a shot.  For short money, you'll be the talk of the neighborhood, and your wife will even like it.
